On Wednesday, December 4, a Ukrainian delegation met with senior officials from the team of US President-elect Donald Trump. The delegation was led by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, reports Reuters.
A source told the agency that the meeting took place as Ukraine seeks support from the incoming US administration regarding Russia's war against Ukraine. The source also disclosed details about who participated in the talks on behalf of Trump’s team.
"The group met in Washington with Trump's choice for White House national security adviser, Mike Waltz, and his Ukraine envoy, Keith Kellogg," the report said.
No further details were provided by the source. The Trump team, when asked for comment, did not respond.
Earlier this week, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced that Ukraine and its partners had developed a peace framework for a second peace summit, which is a prerequisite for the next round of talks.
