Ukrainian delegation arrives in Istanbul: When talks with Russia to begin

The Ukrainian delegation has arrived in Türkiye for a second round of negotiations with Russia. The meeting is scheduled to take place in the afternoon, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Heorhii Tykhyi.
According to Tykhyi, the Ukrainian team arrived in Istanbul on Monday, June 2, for the second round of talks with representatives of Russia.
Negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations are planned for the second half of the day.
The Russian delegation arrived in Istanbul yesterday evening. Moscow’s representatives stated they had received Ukraine's proposals for settling the war.
According to the Anadolu Agency, citing Türkiye's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will take place at Çırağan Palace and is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
Second round of negotiations in Istanbul
On Monday, June 2, the second round of talks between Ukrainian and Russian delegations is set to take place in Istanbul. Moscow is expected to present its so-called memorandum - a document outlining their vision for a ceasefire agreement.
Ukraine had insisted that these proposals be sent ahead of the meeting, but the Russian side did not comply.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the composition of the Ukrainian delegation, which will be headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. The team also includes representatives from the Presidential Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Staff, Security Service of Ukraine, Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and Foreign Intelligence Service.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine will insist in Istanbul on a full and unconditional ceasefire.
