- Milk - 1 cup
- Butter - 100g
- Sugar - 100g
- Egg yolks - 3
- Egg - 1
- Dry yeast - 6g
- Salt - a pinch
- Oil - for greasing the baking sheet
For the filling:
- Poppy seeds - 250g
- Walnuts - 100g
- Sugar - 100g
- Raisins - 100g
- Butter - 25g
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Egg white - 1
Directions:
Dissolve the yeast in warm milk, add 1 tablespoon of sugar, and let the mixture sit in a warm place for 10-15 minutes to rise.
Cream the butter with sugar, gradually adding the egg yolks. Then add the yeast mixture and start adding the flour. Knead the dough. Cover it with a cloth and place it in a warm place to rise.
Chop the walnuts. Soak the raisins in warm water for 10-15 minutes to soften. Pour boiling water over the poppy seeds several times. Drain and grind them, adding sugar.
Melt the butter and honey in a saucepan, add the poppy seeds, and heat slightly. Add the walnuts and raisins to the warm mixture. Beat the egg white until stiff peaks form, and gently fold it into the mixture.
Divide the dough into four parts, roll each one out, spread the filling on each, and roll them up into rolls. Place them on an oiled baking sheet and let them rise again. Brush the rolls with beaten egg and bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 35-40 minutes.
