Ukrainian army showcases Russian troops' elimination along their route near Chasiv Yar
The Ukrainian military showed how they were destroying Russian troops in a BMP-1 on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were moving along the route of the Russians, according to Khortytskyi Wind.
“This video is not just footage from the battlefield, but an opportunity to see combat reality through the eyes of soldiers who risk their lives every day for our victory,” the statement reads.
The video shows the deployment and operation of an infantry fighting vehicle on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar.
“The crew of BMP-1 worked along Russians' route of movement, which he is trying to use to advance to our positions,” the military states.
BMP-1
The BMP-1 is the first Soviet mass-produced armored tracked combat vehicle capable of floating and designed to transport personnel of motorized infantry units to the battlefield, increase their mobility, armament, and protection on the battlefield, and operate jointly with tanks in combat.
The ancestor of such a class of combat vehicles as infantry fighting vehicles; the world's first serial infantry fighting vehicle. The BMP-1 is designed to transport and support one motorized infantry squad. The vehicle's combat crew consists of 11 people: 3 crew members (driver, gunner-operator, and squad/armored vehicle commander) and 8 troops.
Situation at the front
As of November 5, 140 combat engagements took place in the frontline. Russians attacked most of all in the Kurakhove sector.
According to the Institute for War Studies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to regain previously lost positions south of Chasiv Yar. At the same time, the Russians advanced southeast of Kupiansk.
Russian movement was also recorded northwest of Kreminna, near Toretsk, near Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Vuhledar, and north of Robotyne.
