Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down Russian Su-25 in Donetsk region - Zelenskyy
On Saturday, May 25, the Ukrainian military downed a Russian Su-25 aircraft in the Donetsk region, reported Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Today, our soldiers in Donetsk region have the result that is necessary in all areas, in all those areas where Russian strikes threaten our positions, our cities and communities," the president said.
According to Zelenskyy, today the soldiers of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade shot down another Russian Su-25.
The Su-25 is a Soviet attack aircraft used by Russia. Its main task is to support ground forces. This aircraft first flew in 1975 and was put into service in 1981.
According to the military, this is the 8th Su-25 aircraft that the Ukrainian military has shot down this month. Thus, on May 23, a Russian Su-25 was also shot down by fighters of the 110th Brigade.
But on May 22, a Su-25 was shot down in the Pokrovsk sector.
Last week, the 110th Brigade also shot down a Su-25 in the Donetsk region.
