Russian troops, at the cost of heavy losses, have had little success in certain areas of the eastern front. At the same time, the situation can change several times a day, according to Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“For three days I worked on the eastern front, in the brigades holding the defense at the Kharkiv and Toretsk directions,” he says.

According to him, combat actions of varying intensity are ongoing in all areas of Russia's offensive, and in some places, Russia is gaining little success at the cost of heavy losses.

“During active hostilities, the tactical positions of troops can change several times during the day. As of now, there have been no significant changes,” notes Syrskyi.

Situation in certain areas of frontline

Russia continues to concentrate its efforts in the Pokrovsk sector, throwing its most experienced assault units into the battle, trying to break through the Ukrainian defense in the areas of Zhelanne, Novohrodivka, and Pokrovsk.

Fierce fighting continues in the Kupiansk sector near Pishchane, Stelmakhivka, and Makiivka, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding their positions.

The situation in the Siversk sector is difficult. Russia is actively using artillery, and conducting assaults, but is not successful. Fierce fighting is also taking place in the area of the canal on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar, with no change in the positions of the parties.

Russians continue to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of New York, Pivdenne, and Zalizne.

In the Kharkiv sector, near Hlyboke and Vovchansk, there are also battles, but the Russians are not successful and suffer significant losses.

The National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Military Law Enforcement Service are conducting counter-sabotage operations. Their units are currently detecting and neutralizing Russian subversive groups in urban areas in the Toretsk sector.
