Airborne Assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were created after the declaration of independence of Ukraine based on units of airborne troops of the USSR. They gradually became part of the Armed Forces from January 1, 1992, to the beginning of the summer of 1993.
In 2017, the Airborne Assault Forces Command changed the date of the professional holiday and moved it to November 21, the Day of Arch-strategist Michael.
By the end of 2021, the number of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 16,000 servicemen.
Interestingly, Ukrainian paratroopers are called raccoons. The president used this nickname in 2018.
The emblem of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a silver parachute with outstretched golden wings. On the central axis of the parachute is placed a golden sword with a wavy yellow-hot blade with the point down.

And here are the results of the effective work of the soldiers of the 82nd separate amphibious assault brigade with the help of attack drones.
The Russian military also resorts to assaults to encircle one or another settlement, but they are unable to do so thanks to the Armed Forces.
