Russian forces attacked Ukrainian territory overnight on August 14 using strike drones and surface-to-air missiles. The attacks mainly targeted the northern and eastern regions of the country, the Ukrainian Air Force reports.

“On the night of August 14, the enemy launched 2 guided surface-to-air missiles S-300/400 from the Kursk region, 45 strike drones of the Shahed type, and various types of drone-imitators from the directions: Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo in Russia,” the Air Force stated.

Strike drones targeted frontline areas in the Donetsk and Chernihiv regions, while the missiles were heading toward the Sumy region.

Ukrainian aviation, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces engaged the enemy air targets.

Preliminary data indicate that air defense systems shot down or suppressed 24 enemy Shahed drones and various drone-imitators in the north and east of the country. In addition, 21 drones were recorded as hitting 12 locations.

Russian air strikes

Yesterday morning, August 13, Russians shelled the village of Chornobaivka in the Kherson region with artillery. The attack destroyed a house and killed a local resident, while several other houses were damaged.

In addition, on the evening of Tuesday, August 12, Russian troops struck Kremenchuk in the Poltava region with ballistic missiles.

On August 13, due to shelling in the Sumy and Kherson regions, several people sustained injuries of varying severity.
