Ukrainian defense forceІ continue to hold their positions in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, despite the increasing intensity of attacks by the Russian army, according to the 7th Air Assault Forces Corps.

Over the past week, Ukrainian troops from the 7th Airborne Corps eliminated 236 Russian occupiers and wounded another 136. Ukrainian forces also destroyed one tank, three armored combat vehicles, and 23 Russian vehicles and motorcycles.

The military notes that Russia continues to increase the number of assaults in the Pokrovsk area. During the week, 132 attacks were recorded, which is almost 20% more than the previous week.

Russia is focusing its efforts on attempts to gain a foothold in the city's multi-story buildings, which the Russians are seeking to turn into commanding heights. The Ukrainian military is systematically thwarting these attempts, allowing other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to continue clearing the urban area.

The most intense fighting continues in the northern part of Pokrovsk, especially in the industrial zone. The routes used by Russian units to infiltrate this sector are under the control of Ukrainian forces, which significantly limits Russia's ability to replenish losses and transfer reserves.

"The Ukrainian military is holding back the Russians, in particular, thanks to a multi-lane defense system. Logistics in Hryshyne allow us to carry out specific tasks," the Air Assault Forces add.

Situation in Myrnohrad

The defensive operation in Myrnohrad is also continuing. Logistical support for the city remains stable: food and ammunition supplies are being replenished on time.

"Russia is trying to attack Myrnohrad from the southeast. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are managing to eliminate the Russian troops on the approaches to the city, preventing the Russians from infiltrating the city," the military adds.

Fighting for Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad

The pace of the Russian advance in Pokrovsk and around the city has temporarily slowed, but Russia continues to try to block the Ukrainian Armed Forces' logistics routes in the Myrnohrad area.

At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Russia is seeking to capture Pokrovsk as quickly as possible to create the impression that it is capable of establishing complete control over Donbas.

Earlier today, Major Andrii Kovaliov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told RBC-Ukraine that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding their positions and destroying Russian occupiers on the approaches to Myrnohrad and in the urban area of Pokrovsk.
