Last night, powerful explosions rang out across dozens of Russian regions and occupied Crimea as Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out a new massive attack.

Russia's defense ministry specified that Ukrainian forces began the air attack on the aggressor country at 8:00 p.m. on October 7, Moscow time.

Russian air defenses attempted to shoot down Ukrainian attack drones for 12 consecutive hours — until 8:00 a.m. on October 8.

Russia’s Defense Ministry once again did not specify the exact number of UAVs used by the Defense Forces during the new attack. But the report makes it clear that more than 400 drones were involved.

The Russians claim that their air defenses managed to destroy and suppress 399 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.

This time, Russian air defenses attempted to shoot down Ukrainian Armed Forces drones over the territories of:

  • Belgorod region,
  • Bryansk region,
  • Volgograd region,
  • Voronezh region,
  • Kursk region,
  • Lipetsk region,
  • Oryol region,
  • Orenburg region,
  • Penza region,
  • Rostov region,
  • Ryazan region,
  • Samara region,
  • Saratov region,
  • Smolensk region,
  • Tambov region,
  • Tula region,
  • Ulyanovsk region;
  • Moscow region;
  • the Republic of Bashkortostan;
  • occupied Crimea;
  • the Republic of Tatarstan;
  • the waters of the Black Sea.

Consequences of Ukraine’s attack on Russia on October 8

In Bashkortostan, the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat enterprise came under attack by the Defense Forces. It is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in the aggressor country.

According to eyewitnesses, a large-scale fire is currently raging there. Ukrainian drones traveled about 1,400 km this time.

The Sasta machine-tool plant was also attacked in Russia’s Ryazan region. According to analysts, it is extremely important for Russia’s military-industrial complex.

Moreover, a Yandex data center is located near the facility.

It is a large data center with a stated power capacity of up to 12 MW and infrastructure capable of hosting tens of thousands of servers.
