Ukraine to launch international drone production for war efforts, says Zelenskyy

Ukraine has reached an agreement with Denmark to launch a joint production line for long-range drones, while negotiations with the United States are also ongoing, says President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a media briefing on July 24.
In particular, Zelenskyy explained that Ukraine is pushing forward the idea of exporting weapons through international production lines.
"We want it to move faster - it's all taking too long everywhere. We're discussing this with Denmark, Norway, and Germany. There's major progress. With Denmark, we've already reached an agreement. We've figured out how to make it work," the Ukrainian leader noted.
Zelenskyy said Denmark will host production lines for long-range drones, funded by additional investments. The drones produced will then be transferred to Ukraine for use in the war.
"The production line will be a 50/50 partnership with the private sector. But after the war, they (Denmark - ed.) will begin stockpiling the drones for their own army," Zelenskyy added.
Zelenskyy also mentioned that Ukraine is currently in talks with US President Donald Trump.
"We agreed that they will purchase drones from us. That's the deal. I've assigned this to Umerov, Shmyhal, and Kamyshin. It's very important to prepare this agreement - a serious contract for $10, $20, or even $30 billion," the Ukrainian President said.
Ukraine's defense industry growth
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has significantly ramped up domestic weapons production and defense technology development, much of which is already being used on the battlefield.
For example, Ukrainian engineers have created the Magura naval drones, used by Ukraine's Defense Intelligence to destroy Russian warships and other maritime targets.
According to Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine's weapons production has increased 35-fold since the start of the invasion, and the country plans to boost it even further.
