Over the past several days, Russian forces have attempted to advance along several sections of the front line, but Ukraine's Defense Forces have once again thwarted the enemy's plans, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported.

Russian forces continued offensive operations in the northern Sumy region on November 3 and 4 but failed to make any gains due to Ukrainian counterattacks northeast of Sumy. According to a source covering the activities of Russia's Northern Group of Forces, Russian troops intensified their assaults toward Myropillia on November 4.

Meanwhile, a source affiliated with Russia's Western Group of Forces disputed claims that Russian forces had established control over Zarichne, northeast of Lyman. According to the source, the settlement remains a contested "gray zone" where Russian units are attempting to establish a foothold.

East of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, Russian forces also launched attacks on November 3 and 4 but made no advances. Ukrainian troops carried out counterattacks along the southern bank of the Siverskyi Donets River and southeast of Sloviansk.

Russian forces were most active in the Kostiantynivka-Druzhkivka sector. According to Ukraine's General Staff, Russian troops launched 24 assaults there on November 3-4. This was the highest number of attacks recorded in any single sector during that period.

Meanwhile, the intensity of Russian attacks in the neighboring Dobropillia sector decreased. Russian forces had concentrated their main efforts there since at least August 1, 2026.

Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Dobropillia sector on November 3 and 4 but failed to advance due to Ukrainian counterattacks.

In southern Ukraine, Russian forces also failed to make any gains. In particular, Russian troops attacked in the Huliaipole sector and western Zaporizhzhia region on November 3 and 4. Ukrainian forces launched counterattacks south of Orikhiv.

Earlier, we reported that Ukraine's Defense Forces had advanced in two regions.
