Ukraine targets Russian Rostov-on-Don airfield in overnight strike

Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Russian Rostov-on-Don airfield overnight on September 6, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported
According to the Ukrainian military, a fire broke out at the Russian airfield following the strike. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
In addition, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the following targets in Russia’s Rostov region:
- a Podlyot radar station;
- two Pantsir-S1 air defense missile-gun systems.
The General Staff also confirmed that the Ryazan Oil Refinery in Russia’s Ryazan region was hit again. A fire broke out at the facility.
The refinery is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian armed forces.
It is also important to note that the facility is one of Russia’s largest oil refineries.
According to Rosneft, the Ryazan Oil Refinery ranks among the top five Russian facilities in terms of refining volumes and product range.
Fire Point has already provided further details, saying that Ukrainian drones struck the largest primary crude oil processing units at the Ryazan refinery.
Importantly, these units account for more than 77% of the Ryazan refinery’s total primary crude oil processing capacity.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian military did not strike Moscow overnight on September 6, but instead launched hundreds of drones at 14 Russian regions.
We also reported that the previous day, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a Russian MESH network repeater, a radar station and an electronic warfare system.
