Overnight on August 2, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Saratov oil refinery, Engels airfield, the Lyudinovskaya oil depot in Russia's Kaluga region and other Russian targets, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As part of efforts to reduce Russia's military and economic potential, Ukrainian Defense Forces units struck the Saratov oil refinery in Saratov, Russia's Saratov region.

A hit was recorded at the facility, followed by a fire on the premises.

The Saratov oil refinery is one of the largest oil-processing facilities in Russia's Volga region. It has an annual refining capacity of about 7 million tons of crude oil. The refinery is involved in supplying Russia's military-industrial complex and armed forces.

The Ukrainian forces also struck Engels airfield in Russia's Saratov region. A hit was recorded at the facility, followed by a fire at the airfield.

Engels is one of Russia's main strategic aviation bases, hosting Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers that are regularly used to launch missile strikes against Ukraine.

In addition, the Lyudinovskaya oil depot in Lyudinovo, Russia's Kaluga region, was struck. The facility is used to store and supply fuel and lubricants, including to meet the needs of Russia's armed forces.

A site used to store, prepare and launch attack drones in the area of Navlya, Russia's Bryansk region, was also struck.

In addition, on August 1, Ukrainian forces struck enemy drone command posts near Olkho-Zhemchugovo in Russia's Kursk region, Berestok in Ukraine's Donetsk region, Sichneve in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region and Yablukove in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region.

New strikes on Russian targets

Ukraine continues to systematically strike logistics facilities deep inside Russia. Overnight on August 2, drones targeted a Wildberries warehouse in Russia's Samara region.

The logistics center is an important hub for storing, sorting and distributing goods, helping ensure the uninterrupted operation of major logistics networks.

Drones also attacked Russia's Saratov region overnight. A fire broke out at an airport there. A fire was also reported at Engels airfield, which was targeted by drones.
