Skynex is a short-range anti-aircraft artillery system developed and manufactured by the German company Rheinmetall. The system was first revealed in November 2021 and received its "combat baptism" during the war in Ukraine.
Its main weapon is the 35-mm automatic Oerlikon Mk3 cannon, which has an effective firing range of 4,000 meters and a rate of fire of 1,000 rounds per minute. The first Skynex air defense system was delivered to Ukraine from Germany in January 2024, followed by another in April 2024.
