In his address on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is stronger, respects itself, and does not wait for gestures of goodwill. Kyiv's response to Russia's aggression is to strike back at the enemy.

"This will be the case because Ukraine is different today. Ukraine is stronger and respects itself. And Ukraine does not wait for gestures of goodwill, but has its own will to implement what we need," Zelenskyy emphasized in his address.

The President noted that Ukraine's response to Russia's actions is proportionate and fair.

"When Russia wants to take the Sumy region, the Armed Forces appear in the Kursk region. When Russia strikes our energy sector, it wants to leave us without light and heat, and then its oil refineries burn. And no one can forbid us such strikes, because it strikes justice," Zelenskyy emphasized.

He added that Ukraine has repeatedly offered a ceasefire and seeks peace, but responds with force when its calls are ignored.

"How many times have we said, ‘We want silence, we want peace’? But we want it to be dignified and comprehensive, and therefore we are counting on the strength of the whole world."

We will remind you that on the morning of August 24, ten drones were spotted over the port of Ust-Luga. Flights to Pulkovo have been temporarily suspended.

Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed the attack by unknown drones. According to him, the debris caused a fire at the NOVATEK terminal.
