Ukraine's MoD on equipping new conscripts: Everything planned for 2024
Ukraine has plans for equipping new conscripts who are expected to be called up for military service in 2024, states Ukraine's Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov.
The minister was asked where he would get the funds for the equipment for the new conscripts they wanted to mobilize.
"We have everything planned for 2024, as has already been stated by the Commander-in-Chief (Valerii Zaluzhnyi - Ed.). We don't want to go into details about what we've planned or how we will do it," Umerov replied.
Background
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, previously mentioned that the General Staff asked him to mobilize an additional 450-500 thousand people.
However, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, later assured that this would not happen in the near future.
On December 25, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced a bill to the Parliament that changed the conscription procedure in Ukraine, proposing to reduce the conscription age from 27 to 25 years old. For more details on the bill, refer to RBC-Ukraine's report.
