US media inform that Ukraine has lost 80,000 soldiers on the front lines. However, this information is not accurate. The number of fallen Ukrainian defenders is lower, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports in an interview with Kyodo News.

"Recently, someone in the US press reported that 80,000 Ukrainians have been killed. But I want to tell you, no, the number is lower. Much lower," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, the President of Ukraine noted that it is currently impossible to determine exactly how many Ukrainians have been killed in temporarily occupied territories.

"During the occupation, there were civilians, military personnel, law enforcement officers, and others there. How many of them died, were lost, or were tortured in captivity, etc... I do not know. That is why I speak only about the confirmed losses of military personnel in territories under our control," Zelenskyy added.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine's military losses in the war allegedly amount to 80,000 soldiers. However, Ukrainian authorities have refuted this information, stating that the actual numbers are lower.
