The Ukrainian women's national handball team secured their spot in Euro 2024 after a draw against Slovakia in the qualifiers. The tournament is scheduled for November-December this year.

In the final round of qualifiers, the ''blue-yellow" team needed to avoid a heavy defeat to finish second in their group. During the first half, the Slovakian team almost managed to pull ahead, leading by as much as 5 goals at one point. However, Ukraine managed to stabilize the situation before halftime, trailing by just 2 points.

In the second half, the home team tried to extend their lead, but the Ukrainian team kept up the pressure. Eventually, they leveled the score by the end of the match.

With this result, Ukraine collected 7 points and secured the second spot in the group, behind Germany (12 points). Slovakia finished third but also qualified for the continental championship as one of the four best third-placed teams in the qualifiers.

Euro 2024 will mark Ukraine's first appearance in the championship since 2014. Overall, the Ukrainian team has participated in eleven European championships, with their best result being a silver medal in Euro 2000. The upcoming tournament will be hosted by Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland.
