Over the past several days, Russian forces have attempted to advance along various sections of the front line, but Ukraine's Defense Forces have blocked the enemy's progress, according to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
On October 13 and 14, Russian forces continued offensive operations in the northern Kharkiv region but made no confirmed gains.
Moreover, Russian officials and military bloggers continue to spread false claims that Ukrainian units have been encircled in the northeastern Kharkiv region.
On October 13, Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed on the Max social media platform that Russian forces were destroying allegedly encircled Ukrainian troops in Mykolaivka, Varvarivka, and Nefedivka, located east of Vovchansk.
On October 14, a Russian military blogger published a map claiming that Russian forces had closed a ring between Vovchansk and Velykyi Burluk, encircling Varvarivka and the area between Chorne and Nefedivka. However, ISW analysts emphasize that these reports distort the actual situation, as there is no evidence that Ukrainian forces have been encircled in this direction.
On October 14, Russian forces also conducted limited offensive operations in the Kupiansk and Borova directions, but Ukraine's Armed Forces prevented the enemy from advancing.
On October 13 and 14, Russian forces attacked northeast and southeast of Lyman but failed to advance. Russian troops also launched offensives east of Sloviansk, particularly near Kryva Luka, Mykolaivka, Piskunivka, and Kalenyky, but made no confirmed gains.
In Kostiantynivka and its outskirts, Russian forces continued offensive operations on October 13 and 14, but no confirmed advances were recorded.
In western Zaporizhzhia region, Russian sources also reported continued offensives on October 13 and 14 amid Ukrainian counterattacks. However, ISW found no evidence of Russian advances in this section of the front.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Ukraine's Defense Forces had managed to liberate another 101 square kilometers of territory in Donbas as part of Operation Vivaldi.
