Ukraine's Forces debunk false claims of encirclement in Makarivka, Donetsk region
The Russian army allegedly encircled Makarivka, located south of Velyka Novosilka. However, this information is false, according to the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group of Troops.
What preceded
About a week ago, the Deep State project reported that the garrison of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Makarivka was at risk of encirclement. Today, their map shows that Russian forces have allegedly encircled Makarivka, with Ukrainian troops supposedly still remaining in the area.
What the military says
The Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group of Troops has stated that the information about the encirclement of Ukrainian Defense Forces units in the settlement of Makarivka in the Vremivka direction is false.
"Unverified data and, as a result, false conclusions about the existence of such a situation are the result of analysis by individual observers and independent experts based on sources whose information does not match the dynamics of the combat actions," the statement reads.
The military also reminded that spreading information from unverified sources can not only mislead the audience but also endanger the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.
Situation on the front
Recently, we reported that Russian forces attacked a number of fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, resulting in their destruction. This made it impossible to maintain control over these positions.
Russian army may be preparing for an assault on Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, which could become the culmination of the enemy's offensive operation in this direction.
