Olena Zelenska every time introduces new projects that help solve those issues that were on the back burner during the war. This time, Zelenska spoke at the opening of the campaign against violence.

Over the past month, the president's wife had the opportunity to attend a large number of business meetings, and this is not surprising, because the end of the year is coming soon, and all matters and projects must be completed in time.

This time, Olena, together with the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna, with the support of UNFPA, launched the campaign "Take a step. Sensitivity defeats violence."

Its launch is dedicated to the international action "16 days of activism against violence", which lasts every year from November 25 to December 10 and raises very important topics of society, which are often kept silent.

What did Zelenska talk about at the meeting

"Nowadays, we all live with news from the front, reports about shelling, about victims of Russian aggression. And other reports, which are also followed by tragedies, are often ignored," Ms. Zelenska emphasizes.

Olena raised serious and very poignant topics of domestic, psychological, and physical violence, which seem not to be very important now.

"While the country is fighting a common aggressor, many internal, family aggressors continue their attacks. Not only physical. Violence is psychological - when they are not beaten but humiliated, brought to tears, or to suicide. Or economic - when the victim cannot escape from the abuser because it depends on money, food, housing," says the president's wife.

The main idea of this campaign is that even small steps help fight violence. Indifference will save someone's life, if you don't keep silent, don't turn your back.

"There is no shame in talking about violence against yourself or your loved ones - it is responsible. Fighting a domestic aggressor is the same as fighting someone who attacked your country, your home," the first lady concludes.
