On October 18, Ukrainian FP-1 drones attacked oil facilities in St. Petersburg and the VKontakte data center in the Leningrad region, according to a post published by Fire Point.

The company reported overnight strikes on facilities in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region. FP-1 drones were used in the attacks.

The targets included the Ruchyi oil depot and the St. Petersburg oil terminal, which handles 12.5 million tonnes of oil annually. Fires broke out at both oil facilities following the attacks.

According to Fire Point, the data center of the social network VKontakte located in the Leningrad region also sustained significant damage.

Strikes on Russia on October 18

On the night of October 18, there was a large-scale drone attack on Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Russia's Leningrad region. An oil-loading port was likely among the targets. Restrictions were imposed at three airports in response to the attacks.

Drones also targeted the data center of the social network VKontakte in the Leningrad region. Users began reporting a widespread service outage, while parts of St. Petersburg were left without electricity.

In addition, a fire broke out at an Ozon marketplace warehouse near the city.

Another possible target was the cable-stayed bridge over the Korabelny Fairway in St. Petersburg. The bridge is located just 4.5 km from the St. Petersburg oil terminal, where a fire also broke out following the drone attack.
