Ukraine's drones hit oil refinery and terminal in Russia's Tuapse, sources say

On the night of December 31, operators of the HUR, together with the State Border Service of Ukraine, attacked the Tuapse oil refinery and the Tuapse sea oil terminal. Both facilities are located in the Krasnodar region of Russia.

The strike on the terminal targeted transport pipelines and loading equipment. The targets were successfully hit. At the Tuapse oil refinery, the AVT-12 primary oil processing unit was hit. This oil refinery was capable of processing up to 12 million tons of oil per year, thereby strengthening the Russian military-industrial complex and army.

On the night of December 31, Russian media outlets and channels began to report explosions in Tuapse. The Russians claimed that there had been a drone attack, and that strong fires had broken out at an oil refinery and oil terminal after numerous explosions.

Ukraine significantly intensified its strikes on Russia's energy infrastructure in December this year, setting a record for the number of attacks since the start of the full-scale war. At least 24 attacks were carried out on the Russian oil refining facilities alone.

On the night of December 28, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the Syzran oil refinery. On December 25, the Russian Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery was attacked again. On the night of December 24, Ukrainian troops hit a rocket fuel production plant in Russia.
