Ukraine's Defense Minister visits Bakhmut front for the first time since appointment

Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov visited the Bakhmut direction for the first time since his appointment. He met with the military, according to Umerov's Facebook.
Umerov visited the main command post of the Defense Forces in the Bakhmut direction. He listened to the commander's report, was introduced to units, and assessed the situation on the front lines.
"Spoke with the soldiers. Honored the best soldiers with state awards and Ministry of Defense badges," the minister added.
According to Umerov, the hottest directions remain Bakhmut and Klishchiivka.
Appointment of Umerov
On September 5, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) dismissed Oleksii Reznikov from the position of Minister of Defense. After that, former head of the State Property Fund Rustem Umerov took over as the new minister.
On September 18, the government dismissed almost all the deputy ministers of defense, including Hanna Maliar. She was responsible for the information policy and often reported on events on the front lines.
The Cabinet of Ministers has already appointed six new deputy ministers of defense.
