The Polish companies PK MIL and SZCZĘŚNIAK Pojazdy Specjalne have entered into a partnership aimed at preparing for the launch of production of the Ukrainian 155-mm Bohdana wheeled self-propelled artillery systems, according to Militarnyi.
The parties signed a memorandum of understanding on September 11, 2026, during the 34th MSPO International Defense Industry Exhibition, held in the Polish city of Kielce.
One of the main focuses of the partnership is the involvement of the companies in the production of the Ukrainian 155-mm Bohdana self-propelled howitzer.
According to the preliminary division of responsibilities, PK MIL will handle the artillery component of the project. For its part, SZCZĘŚNIAK Pojazdy Specjalne will provide expert support in the development of specialized vehicles, the installation of artillery systems on chassis, and the adaptation of transport platforms to the military’s needs.
"Therefore, from the very beginning, we have assumed that future cooperation between the two companies will also involve the implementation of solutions enabling maintenance, repairs, and operational support for these vehicles directly at the end users' facilities," says Marek Ważecha, Chairman of the Management Board of PK MIL.
To increase production volumes, Ukrainian manufacturers have already developed several variants of the Bohdana mounted on various types of wheeled chassis.
The new enterprise plans to specialize in the manufacture of 155-mm Bohdana self-propelled howitzers, as well as Bohdana-BG towed artillery systems.
In addition to increasing production capacity, establishing production in Poland opens up opportunities for Ukrainian artillery systems to enter the international market. Specifically, this involves potential deliveries of howitzers to Polish customers and other European countries.
Ukraine has increased production of the Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems to 40 units per month, transforming a one-off prototype into mass production.
