Ukraine's air defense downs majority of 90 drones in night attack

On the night of February 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with 90 strike drones from five directions. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down the majority of the hostile UAVs, according to a Telegram post by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on January 31 until the morning of February 1, Russian forces launched 90 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of UAVs, from the directions of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk. About 60 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 08:30, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 76 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types in the north and east of the country.
Hits by 14 strike drones were recorded at nine locations, as well as the fall of downed drones (debris) at two locations.
"The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety rules," the Air Force warned.
Shelling of Ukraine
As a reminder, on the night of February 1, Dnipro was hit by an enemy drone. A strike on a private house killed two people, a woman and a man.
On the night of January 31, Russia attacked Ukraine with 85 strike drones from three directions. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 64 of them.
At the same time, hits by 20 strike drones were recorded at 13 locations.
