Ukraine proposes cooperation with Europe in field of drone defense - Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to share its experience in defending against drones with Europe. This refers to a form of cooperation that Kyiv had previously offered to countries in the Middle East, according to the president’s post on Telegram.
As stated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a meeting with Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence Helen McEntee, the parties discussed the priorities of Ireland’s presidency of the European Union in the second half of this year.
The president separately stressed that it is critically important for Ukraine that the EU finally implements a mechanism for opening negotiation clusters for countries that fulfill their obligations.
According to Zelenskyy, he also provided the Irish side with detailed updates on the results of his visits to Middle Eastern countries and the defense system Ukraine has offered to partners there.
The president noted that Kyiv is ready to work in a similar format with European states as well.
"In all dimensions, Europe must be protected, and Ukrainian expertise can significantly enhance security," he added.
Zelenskyy also thanked Ireland for its military, humanitarian, and energy support for Ukraine. He separately highlighted Helen McEntee’s participation in the Bucha Summit, which took place on the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Bucha from Russian occupation.
He recalled that earlier he had announced agreements with Middle Eastern countries, describing them as unprecedented for Ukraine’s defense industry. According to the president, this concerns long-term cooperation aimed at scaling up production.
At the same time, not all European partners assess Ukraine’s developments equally highly. In particular, the CEO of Rheinmetall compared Ukrainian drone developments to a "game of Lego," effectively downplaying the engineering achievements of Ukrainian manufacturers.
