Preparations for possible Russian action in northern Ukraine, protection against drone attacks and additional air defense reinforcement were the main topics of a new meeting with military commanders, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

According to the head of state, he, together with Acting Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, continued a series of meetings with army corps commanders.

This time, the meeting was attended by the commanders of the 9th, 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th and 21st Army Corps, as well as the 30th Marine Corps.

During the meeting, the commanders reported on the situation in their respective sectors, Russian military activity, assessments of the enemy's plans, and the capabilities of Ukrainian forces to counter them.

Defense of Kherson, Nikopol and countering drones

Special attention was paid to the defense of Kherson, the cities and communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region, including Nikopol. The participants also discussed countering Russian drones, additional supplies for the troops, and strengthening frontline air defenses.

Series of meetings with the military command

In recent days, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been holding a series of meetings with the military command on the situation in the most difficult sections of the front.

Following consultations with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, he announced new decisions for the Ukrainian military.

On July 20, the head of state met for the second time in two days with Deputy Chief of the General Staff Volodymyr Horbatiuk and Commander of the Joint Forces Mykhailo Drapatyi to discuss the current situation on the front.

Later that day, Zelenskyy held a special meeting of the Staff, bringing together corps commanders, government representatives and Ukrainian arms manufacturers in this format for the first time.
