The musical producer of the National Selection for Eurovision 2026 has become the legendary singer and winner of the 2016 contest, Jamala, reports Suspilne.

This decision is significant, as Jamala is not only an artist but also an experienced expert. She has been a member of the National Selection jury seven times and is also a laureate of the Shevchenko Prize for the album Qirim.
This year, the singer joined the American Recording Academy, which awards the Grammy.

"Being on the jury is one story: you choose among the artists presented to you. But as a producer, I need to listen to all the applications and, together with the team, select the participants who will then appear before people on air," she noted.
According to the singer, success at Eurovision is not a coincidence.
"It is always about readiness, about endurance, about professionalism," the singer emphasized.
She aims to see on stage artists who are already ready to fight for victory and represent the country on the international stage.

She highlighted three key skills that can increase the chances of victory: endurance, patience, and professionalism. In her opinion, these help withstand the "marathon of the contest."
The singer also pointed out one important aspect that Ukrainian artists often underestimate. Although they know how to create powerful visuals, they often pay insufficient attention to singing live.
"Each rehearsal should not be 'preparation' but a full-fledged performance in front of a full hall, as if you are already representing the country in the final," Jamala explained.
She is convinced that the ability to withstand pressure and give everything each time determines the result.
Jamala gave an honest answer to the question about how not to be afraid of the performance.
"It is impossible not to be afraid. If you are nervous, it means you care," she said.
According to her, the key to success lies in acting despite fear.
The submission of applications for participation in the National Selection will begin later, so Jamala urges all potential participants to prepare seriously and submit their songs.
