Ukraine offers Russia ceasefire in Black Sea, media reports

Ukraine has conveyed a proposal to Russia through a mediator to stop attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea. Moscow has yet to respond to Kyiv’s initiative, Sky News reports.
What Kyiv proposed
According to the source, Ukraine sent Moscow a proposal for a mutual halt to attacks on civilian targets in the Black Sea. Russia has not responded so far.
The initiative comes amid mutual accusations of attacks on grain shipments and infrastructure in the waterway. Kyiv and Moscow have previously said that such strikes could affect global food prices.
Amid US pressure
Kyiv’s proposal came amid reports that Washington was trying to persuade Ukraine to scale back attacks on Russian ports.
Earlier, military analyst Robert Clark said that the United States was seeking to exert some pressure on Ukraine to reduce attacks on Russian ports.
It was also reported that US Vice President JD Vance had asked Volodymyr Zelenskyy to halt drone strikes on non-Russian tankers in the Black Sea.
Earlier, British Ambassador to Ukraine Neil Crompton said that Russian forces were suffering significant losses on the eastern front, while the pace of their advance remained extremely slow.
