Ukraine mobilizes people every month to defend against Russian aggression. Over the past year, the number of mobilized individuals has reached tens of thousands, according to a statement from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with The Economist.

Zelenskyy stated that over the past year, Ukraine has mobilized 30,000 people every month.

Mobilization in Ukraine

Mobilization in Ukraine remains a key element of the country’s defense against Russian aggression. Currently, the Ukrainian Ground Forces are working on improving the mobilization process, including establishing regulations for Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs). The development of new policies aims to enhance interactions with conscripts.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that new mandatory rules will be developed for TRCs in Ukraine.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Ministry of Defense is preparing a special contract offer to attract 18- to 24-year-olds to the military. He emphasized that this is not a form of mobilization.

According to the president, the special contract will offer benefits such as free education and preferential housing loans. The contract will be signed for a term of one year.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense noted that under the 18-24 Contract project, volunteers will receive a payment of 1 million hryvnias: 200,000 hryvnias will be paid immediately, with the remaining amount distributed throughout their service. Additionally, volunteers will receive up to 120,000 hryvnias in monthly financial support.
