Ukraine will not surrender territories in order to end the war. This is a matter of self-respect and freedom, wrote the advisor to the head of the Office of the President, Mykhailo Podolyak, on his Twitter account.

Trump's controversial remark

Former US President Donald Trump claimed that Ukraine would supposedly have to cede some territories to Russia in order to stop the war. He specifically noted that the United States should "get the two parties together to force peace."

Trump has repeatedly expressed his support for the Russian dictator and opposed assistance to our country. For example, he previously said that he would allow Russia to take part of Ukrainian territories to avoid war. He also refused to call Putin a war criminal.

A matter of self-respect and freedom

As the advisor to the head of the Office of the President said, Ukraine will not give up any territories to Russia in order to stop the war, as such agreements will only lead to an escalation of the conflict and further stages of the war. The aggressor's actions provoke an expansion of aggressive actions and an increase in expansionist ambitions.

"However, no mature and sovereign country will ever agree to such deals if it wants to preserve its self-respect and freedom. And it will never offer suicide to other partner countries. That's an axiom," said Podolyak.
