Operation Vivaldi has delivered new results: Ukrainian troops have brought another 101 square kilometers of territory back under control and liberated three settlements, reports the Third Army Corps.
As Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi said in a statement marking the completion of the fourth phase of Operation Vivaldi, the Third Army Corps, together with attached units, liberated Zelena Dolyna, Lypove, and Kolodiazy.
According to him, during this phase, Ukrainian troops brought 101 square kilometers of territory back under control. Meanwhile, the Russian army, according to the Ukrainian side's assessment, lost around 3,000 soldiers.
The operation began with the elimination of Russian infiltration, but later developed into a large-scale offensive. The corps claims that the occupiers began losing control over their units, which complicated their operations.
How the operation affected the situation in Donbas
Among the operation's results, Biletskyi cited preventing Russian forces from flanking the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. According to him, this prevented Russian troops from creating a threat of encirclement in the area.
Another important result, he said, was the protection of the Kharkiv-Sloviansk highway. This route is of major logistical importance for the Ukrainian grouping in Donbas.
"The enemy was unable to cut off the key logistical artery of our grouping in Donbas. We thwarted the offensive by the Zapad grouping and forced it to redeploy part of the 1st Tank Army's units, which eased the pressure on Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi," the brigadier general added.
How much territory has been retaken during the entire operation
According to the Third Army Corps, Ukrainian forces have brought 16 settlements and 277 square kilometers of territory fully back under their control during Operation Vivaldi.
The corps also reported that the Russian army's total losses during the operation amount to around 8,000 troops.
The fourth phase added another three settlements and 101 square kilometers of territory to the overall results.
Which units took part in the operation
The operation involved troops from the Third Assault Brigade, the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, the 3rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the 25th Separate Assault Battalion, and the 21st Separate Battalion of Unmanned Systems "KRAKEN¹⁶⁵⁴."
Attached units from the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 3rd Border Guard Detachment, the 10th Mobile Border Guard Detachment Dozor, tactical groups of the 8th Special Operations Forces Regiment, the Ukrainian National Guard's Lasar's Group, the K-2 unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces, and unmanned units of Special Operations Center A also joined the fighting.
The Third Army Corps announced the completion of the fourth phase of Operation Vivaldi.
The military emphasized that combat operations are continuing: "Four seasons of Vivaldi have been completed. But the music continues. Over and out!"
