Ukraine has synchronized its sanctions against Russia with three EU sanction packages. Notably, a pilot involved in the strike on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital was subject to restrictions, according to the relevant decrees signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a comment from Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the sanctions commissioner.

According to the presidential decrees, Ukraine aligned its sanctions with the EU’s 15th, 16th, and 17th sanctions packages against Russia.

15th package

Vlasiuk noted that the EU’s 15th sanctions package against Russia includes Russian, Belarusian, Chinese individuals, and persons from other countries.

"Among those listed is Russian pilot Aleksandr Azarenkov, involved in the strike on the Okhmatdyt hospital, and the combat robot manufacturer LLC Gumich," he specified.

16th package

According to Vlasiuk, the 16th EU sanctions package against Russia includes individuals and entities from Russia, China, Türkiye, and other countries.

The list includes the VOIN Center, which conducts military-patriotic training in temporarily occupied territories, and LLC Southern Fleet, which transports Russian oil using the shadow fleet.

17th package

The 17th EU sanctions package also targets citizens of Russia, China, Türkiye, and other countries.

"Sanctions have been imposed on the gold mining company Petropavlovsk and the Chinese firm Skywalker Technology Co. Ltd, which is involved in drone production for Russia," Vlasiuk said.

New sanctions against Russia

Today, July 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also approved sanctions against several Chinese companies.

Sanctions commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk stated that components from these companies were found in Shahed drones.
