Ukraine carried out a successful special operation on Russian territory. As a result, a key enterprise in Tatarstan that produced strike drones was hit, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

To reduce Russia's capability to produce strike unmanned aerial vehicles, on June 15, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces, struck an important military-industrial complex facility.

According to the General Staff, the target was a drone production facility in Yelabuga, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.

Russian forces use this military-industrial complex facility to manufacture, test, and launch strike drones against Ukrainian territory, especially targeting energy and civilian infrastructure.

"It has been confirmed that the strike assets reached the target area. Results are being clarified," the General Staff said.

The military emphasized that the Defense Forces continue to take all necessary measures to undermine the military-economic potential of Russian forces and force Russia to end its armed aggression against Ukraine.

Notable SBU operation

On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted a unique special operation called Spiderweb. During the operation, FPV drones attacked four Russian airfields simultaneously — Belaya, Dyagilevo, Olenya, and Ivanovo.

More than 40 aircraft were damaged in the strikes, including Tu-95, Tu-22M3, and A-50 models.

The SBU reported that Russian losses may exceed $7 billion. The attack disabled one-third of Russia's strategic aviation.

Russian losses in the war in Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, by the beginning of this month, the Russian army had lost over 1 million personnel killed or wounded.
