Ukraine hit by drones again: How strong was air defense?
Russia launched 74 drones at Ukraine in the night of December 8. Air defense forces operated in eight regions, according to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
Occupiers launched Shaheds and other types of drones from five areas – Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
As of 08:30, air defense forces had downed 28 enemy drones. Defense systems operated in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
According to the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an additional 46 drones were lost in specific locations.
Due to a downed Shahed falling in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, residential buildings and private property were damaged, and assistance is being provided to those affected.
Massive energy attack
Recall that on November 28, Russia carried out a large-scale strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Occupiers launched 97 drones and over 90 missiles.
According to the State Emergency Service (SES), infrastructure facilities in Rivne, Lviv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, and Vinnytsia regions were damaged as a result of the attacks.
Due to damage to energy facilities, Ukraine again implemented widespread power outages.
As of December 8, the electricity situation began to stabilize. Electricity consumption will only be restricted from 14:00 to 18:00 today.
