Ukraine gets Google's AI search: What's new and why it matters

Yesterday, at the Google I/O 2025 conference, the corporation announced the global expansion of the AI Overviews feature in the Google search engine. It is now available in over 200 countries and supports over 40 languages, including Ukrainian, as announced in the official Google Blog.
Details of the innovation
This update is a major step toward making information search even more convenient for every user. Over the past 25 years, Google has constantly evolved to meet the growing needs of its audience.
Exactly one year ago, Google introduced "AI Overviews" for the first time as a tool designed to help users formulate complex or new-type queries, find the necessary information faster, and explore relevant websites.
For example, if you look for ideas for throwing a party or quick tips to take care of houseplants, AI Overviews will help you navigate, find useful sources, and discover more than the Internet can offer.
This feature is now becoming available to even more people globally, including users in Ukraine. Google notes that they look forward to seeing how AI Overviews will help users explore information and interact with the digital space in new ways.
