Ukrainian military personnel used a small FPV drone to destroy a Russian Mi-8 attack helicopter. Its value is estimated at over $10 million, according to the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The incident took place near the village of Kotliarivka. There, operators of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems Stepovi Khyzhaky destroyed a Russian Mi-8 transport and combat helicopter with an FPV drone.

The 59th Separate Assault Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk revealed other details of the operation.

"Today we added to our collection of big targets. The Baltyka crew destroyed a Russian Mi-8 attack helicopter worth over $10 million. And we did it with a small FPV drone worth only $500," the video caption reads.

This operation was carried out thanks to the coordinated interaction of Ukraine's intelligence, headquarters, and pilots.

"And most importantly, thanks to the people who support us. Every contribution, every bit of help, every kind word makes such victories a reality," the military says.

Earlier today, Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commander Robert Brovdi, call sign Magyar, said that the Ukrainian military had carried out a unique operation - shot down a Russian Mi-8 helicopter with an FPV drone.
