The mandatory mobilization for women is not currently on the agenda in Ukraine, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation.

The center says that currently, information is actively spreading that Ukraine is considering changes to legislation on the mobilization of women.

The center stresses that no law related to mobilization includes women's mobilization.

"Therefore, the information being spread is fake. The issue of women's mobilization is not relevant today and is not being considered by the authorities. Women can only mobilize voluntarily into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Anything else is not planned," the CCD says.

Background

Oksana Hryhoryeva, gender advisor to the Commander of the Ground Forces, said in an interview with The Times that Ukraine should prepare for the possible mobilizing of women in the coming years.

She said that like Israel, Ukraine needs to be prepared and train men and women to be ready for war.

Last year, former Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced that women in Ukraine would not be mobilized without their consent, including women medics.

At the same time, starting from October 1, 2023, women of certain occupations were required to begin registering for military service.
