Ukraine covers nearly half of frontline needs and produces 95% of its drones

Ukraine covers 40% of the needs of the frontline on its own now. Almost all drones used at the front are domestic, Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Defense and Security Council (NSDC), says at a Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.
"Over the past two years, we have invested more than $20 billion in our own defense industry. Today, almost 40% of the needs of the front line are covered domestically, and 95% of the drones used at the front are manufactured in Ukraine," he said.
He added that thanks to the Danish model, Ukraine's allies can directly invest in Ukrainian defense companies. In total, more than four billion dollars have been raised.
"Together with our allies, we have already implemented more than 20 joint projects. Many others are ongoing and will soon yield results," he said.
UDCG meetings
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group brings together countries to provide military assistance to Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion. The first meeting of the group took place on April 26, 2022.
Many decisions were made as part of the initiative that helped strengthen Ukraine's defense, including the provision of HIMARS systems, Patriot air defense systems, Leopard 2 tanks, and more.
During today's meeting, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Berlin would provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems and necessary ammunition.
