Russia failed to impose its vision of a world order on BRICS countries during the summit in Kazan. Moscow's attempts failed, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry noted that it has drawn attention to a paragraph in the final declaration of the BRICS summit in Kazan dedicated to the war in Ukraine. In it, BRICS countries merely reminded each other of their national positions on the issue, as well as their commitment to the goals and principles of the UN Charter, peaceful resolution, and diplomacy.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this demonstrates that Russia failed to "export" its neo-imperialist views on changing the world order and global security architecture through aggression against Ukraine to the summit participants.

"Moscow's attempts to impose the idea of an allegedly alternative position of the so-called Global South on Russian aggression against Ukraine have failed once again," the Ministry notes.

The Ukrainian Ministry emphasized that the final declaration demonstrated a lack of unified BRICS positions regarding Russian aggression against Ukraine. The summit showed that the global majority remains on Ukraine's side in its efforts to achieve a just peace.

Final declaration

On October 23, leaders of the BRICS countries adopted the final declaration of the summit in Kazan.

In one of the points, they mentioned the war against Ukraine and assured that they allegedly support the implementation of the UN Charter. More details about this can be found in the material by RBC-Ukraine.
