Ukraine and United States launch joint fund for country’s reconstruction

Ukraine and the United States have launched a joint fund to reconstruct the country. This marks a new chapter in cooperation between the two nations. according to a statement by Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Yuliia Svyrydenko.
"Ukraine and the United States have completed all the necessary procedures to launch the US-Ukraine Reconstruction Fund," the minister announced.
She explained that the final step for the launch was a diplomatic note from the United States. Today, she received it from the US Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine.
"It can now officially be considered that the Fund has been launched," Svyrydenko emphasized.
She expressed gratitude to everyone who made it possible.
"We have an equal partnership that respects Ukraine’s national interests, provides for joint governance and investment with the United States. The Fund’s work is future-oriented, with the US and Ukraine jointly investing in the recovery and development of our country," the First Deputy Prime Minister stated.
Minerals deal
On May 1, Ukraine and the United States signed an agreement to establish a joint Investment Fund.
On May 8, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement, and on May 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the corresponding law, completing the process.
At the time, Svyrydenko explained that the remaining agreements would be of a commercial nature and would no longer be signed by the government.
