Ukraine and Moldova are actively working on an agreement that will define the principles of mutual recognition of documents on education and academic degrees issued in the two countries. The document also provides for the mutual recognition of qualification categories and pedagogical titles of teachers, according to the Ministry of Reintegration of Ukraine.

This issue was discussed during a meeting on solving problematic aspects of the stay of Ukrainian citizens abroad, chaired by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk.

During their visit to Moldova, representatives of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and their Moldovan counterparts from the Ministry of Education and Research agreed on the text of the agreement.

Currently, both parties are conducting internal procedures for approving the document. The agreement is scheduled to be signed by the end of 2024.

Education in Ukraine

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has revealed the details of a large-scale educational reform. According to the plan, the experimental implementation of innovations in Ukrainian educational institutions will begin in September 2025 and will last until July 2027. During this period, educational institutions will be selected to test various models of the new system.

In addition, starting in 2027, Ukrainian students will be able to choose their educational path. The new model of high school provides for the creation of academic lyceums where students will be able to study selected subjects in depth and prepare for their future profession.
