U.S. reveals Russia's expenses on Ukraine war, journalist
Russia has spent more than $200 billion deploying and maintaining its troops for a full-scale war against Ukraine, writes Reuters correspondent Idrees Ali on X.
Expenses of Russia
"Russia has probably spent up to $211 billion in equipping, deploying and maintaining troops in Ukraine," the journalist cited the statement of an unnamed U.S. official.
He specified that the aggressor country lost 10 billion dollars due to the cancellation of the sale of its weapons.
At the same time, according to the unnamed official, the war cost Russia 1.3 trillion dollars, which was previously expected to be spent on economic growth until 2026.
Losses of Russia in manpower and equipment
As the official noted, the occupiers have lost 315,000 people wounded or killed since the beginning of the invasion.
He also added that since February 2022, Ukrainian forces have destroyed or damaged at least 20 medium and large ships of the Russian Navy and one tanker under the Russian flag in the Black Sea.
Data of Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian losses
The data of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the loss of lives of the occupiers differs from the one cited by an unnamed U.S. official. As of February 16, it is known that the total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 400,300 soldiers.
Yesterday, February 15, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 1,210 enemy soldiers.
