British police have arrested suspects in a stabbing on a passenger train traveling from Doncaster to London. Both men remain in custody, and authorities do not consider the attack a terrorist incident, BBC reports.

The suspects are 32 and 35 years old. Both were born in Britain, one of African descent and the other of Caribbean descent. Police said there is no reason to classify the attack, which left 11 people injured, as terrorism.

"There is nothing to suggest that this is a terrorist incident. At this stage, it would not be appropriate to speculate on the cause of this incident," police said.

British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood thanked police and emergency services for their rapid response at Huntington station, where the train had stopped.

"We now know this attack is not being treated as terrorism, and that two British-born, British nationals have been arrested. The investigation is ongoing, and I am receiving regular updates from the police," she said.

On the evening of November 1, a major incident occurred on board a Doncaster-London train when unknown individuals attacked passengers with knives. Ten people were initially injured.

The number of victims later rose to 11 after another person sought medical attention independently. Four people remain hospitalized, two in critical condition. Police continue to investigate the incident.
