Tusk calls arson at Polish drone plant 'sabotage' and points to Russian involvement

Poland believes that the fire at a plant producing drone components in the city of Skarżysko-Kamienna was deliberate arson and an act of sabotage, according to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Tusk addressed the government meeting, where officials discussed two fires that broke out at industrial facilities in Poland in recent days. One occurred at the plant of defense contractor WB Electronics in Skarżysko-Kamienna, which produces unmanned systems. The other broke out at a production and warehouse facility operated by JFG Composites in Lublin, which manufactures components for the aviation industry.
"As for the fires at the two plants ... in the case of Skarżysko-Kamienna, there is no doubt that it was deliberate arson, an act of sabotage," the Polish prime minister said.
At the same time, Tusk did not say that arson had been established as the cause of the fire in Lublin. According to him, there is currently no evidence that it was deliberately set, although that possibility cannot be ruled out given the nature of the facility’s production.
"In the case of Lublin, we do not have such evidence, but given the nature of the production, it cannot be ruled out that deliberate arson also occurred there," Tusk said.
Tusk warns of Russian threat
The Polish prime minister linked the situation to a broader threat of destabilization in the region. He said the coming weeks and months would be difficult not only because of Russia’s war against Ukraine, but also because Moscow could seek to increase tensions in countries across the region.
At the same time, Tusk did not provide specific evidence that Russia was behind the arson at the plant in Skarżysko-Kamienna.
Even before the prime minister’s statement, Polish authorities said the fire at the WB Electronics facility was being investigated as a possible act of foreign sabotage. Investigators were examining surveillance camera footage and other materials found near the plant.
