Russian forces attempted to attack Kyiv with drones overnight on October 30, as air defense systems were activated across the capital, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
An air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of Russian drones, with authorities urging residents to immediately take shelter and remain there until the all-clear. The alert was issued at 12:48 AM Kyiv time, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA).
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that hostile drones were initially detected around the city and later moved closer to the capital itself. Air defense systems are now actively operating over Kyiv.
The KCMA stated that "air defense forces are working to neutralize aerial threats over the capital" and called on residents to stay in shelters until the official end of the alert.
Earlier reports indicated that air defense activity was also observed in the Kyiv region.
