Republican Donald Trump wins the election in Arizona, securing victory in all seven swing states, informs The Associated Press.

Trump secures a majority in Arizona, gaining an additional 11 electoral votes. Overall, Trump now has 312 electoral votes, while his opponent, Democrat Kamala Harris, has 226 votes.

Trump also won in six other so-called swing states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Nevada. Arizona was previously considered a Republican stronghold, but in 2020, Democrat Joe Biden became the first candidate to win there since 1996, shifting the state to the swing category.

According to the Associated Press, Trump received 74.6 million votes nationwide (50.5%), while Harris garnered 70.9 million votes (48%).

Congress will certify the Electoral College vote on January 6. Trump and his future vice president, Jay D. Vance, are set to be inaugurated on January 20.
