Trump warns US government shutdown is likely inevitable

The US federal government will likely shut down, and such a scenario appears inevitable, stated US President Donald Trump, according to CNN.
"Nothing is inevitable, but I would say it's probably likely. I didn’t see them (the Democrats - ed.) bend even a little bit," Trump said.
Against this backdrop, Trump accused Democrats of trying to "give health care to illegal immigrants."
Shutdown
A government shutdown in the US is a temporary halt in federal operations due to the absence of an approved budget or a temporary funding law.
During this period, government agencies partially close, and hundreds of thousands of federal employees are sent on unpaid leave or continue working without pay until funding is restored. The main reason for this mechanism is that the US Constitution prohibits the federal government from spending money without Congress’s approval.
A shutdown can occur if Congress and the President fail to agree on a budget bill or a temporary funding resolution.
Conflicts usually arise over disputed spending items, such as funding for social programs, the defense budget, or immigration policy.
Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance stated that the country is approaching a shutdown and blamed the Democrats for it.
